PRAYERS FROM THE TRENCHES

Dear Friends in Christ,

The Lord give you peace!

Do keep up your good work! Sometimes we don't see results--but God works in "strange ways" ("strange ways" in human terms). And, unfortunately, you will be criticized and worse. (I still find it hard to believe the diocese "won't talk" with News Notes.) But you are an encouragement and inspiration to us "in the trenches." God bless!

With prayers,

PLANNED PARENTHOOD PROVIDES MANY SERVICES

I find the ad in your paper regarding "expose planned parenthood" to be offensive. Planned Parenthood provides many services, not only abortion services. Education of the young remains with their parents. Posting of these signs in public are offensive and I feel their effectiveness backfires. Please do not continue the ad.

WONDERFUL PAPER

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy your paper, and I loved the article on hand holding. That was the very best I have ever seen written on that, and I've shared it with many other people. Thank you for your wonderful paper.

NO CLEAR KILLING

Appreciate your reporting on the Milgram abortion clinic closing ("Little Notes," February, 1999), but please let us know if new doctor does no referrals or sterilizations. I'm beginning to think that more and more the evil of abortion will be replaced by the more insidious one of sterilization. There won't be the clear and obvious act of killing, but the sex acts--cut off from child-bearing--will multiply in the next century to an extent never before possible.

Who will be the physicians who will stand up for the integrity of the nuptual act? Will there be any?

PERFECT EXAMPLE

I kept crying as I read and re-read "Our Charlotte" in your February issue. Here was a woman full of natural generosity but not fully tested until she bore her Down's Syndrome baby. And then slowly, slowly she rose to the challenge. What a perfect example this is to the American cult of selfishness.
