WHERE IS CREATION MUSEUM?

Re: the Museum of Creation [see "Two Creation Museums," September News Notes], suggest you consider indicating the actual address and possibly a small diagram/map to indicate the location for your out-of-the-area readers.

Balboa Park and its Museum of Man by contrast are well known and need no help in being easily found; however smaller locations of interest such as the Museum of Creation need the guidance information.

FOUND CHRIST THE KING ARTICLE TROUBLING

Editor: A copy of the following letter was sent to News Notes in response to the news item on Christ the King parish (September).

Dear Father Eddie,

I am somewhat sad about the article in the September San Diego News Notes [see Little Notes, "At Christ The King..."]. It would seem that you advocate homosexuality and are not a defender of the teachings of the Church, since you use the term "bullshit" (regarding them).

Your words as stated in the article could infer various things about Bishop Brom, other priests in the diocese the office of social ministry, and the deceased. If the priest you speak of is who I think you mean, he was as far left as one could get, and abused power dealing with the laity to push his own agenda. He made use of most of the classics, such as "you think the Mass is a Sacrifice," said in a belligerent bellow, which could only mean that the Mass is not a Sacrifice. Bishop Brom, as well as "the Church" says it is, undoubtedly.

It would seem you're a man who picks his words carefully, for instance you state you hate the word illegal and prefer undocumented, which one can understand in some senses.

I really don't know your parish or the other parishes you speak of, but I find the article troubling. I'm not so sure the other people you mention share your opinion, in the way you seem to say they do.

If this letter offends you in any way, I am sorry, but I believe in the teaching of the Church, the Pope and the pastoral priesthood.

Wishing you all the best, In Jesus' love,

James

I'VE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU

News Notes is a refreshing breeze blowing throught the murky fog shrouding our parishes. I've been praying for you and the San Francisco and Los Angeles versions for years.

I just re-read June ... Allyson Smith did another marvelous reporting job quoting parish and other documents exactly ("I Want to Destroy Vestibules") -- the best way to show up Sister Morgan is to quote her.

Robert Kumpel's "Where Have They Taken Him?" (September, 2000) was priceless. At Our Lady of Grace I found the church buzzing like a marketplace 30 minutes before their 5:30 p.m. Mass. I asked two people where the Blessed Sacrament was. They did not have the slightest idea!

Christopher Zehnder's "Studied Ambiguity" was excellent.
