GO AND KEEP ON SINNING
Poor souls, and I do mean poor souls! Is it any wonder why the "Church" is in such dire straights these days? What these folks ("Gerard Manley Hopkins was Gay," by Nicholas Owen, January 2006) fail to realize is that if the Jesus they talk about were so tolerant, the church leaders of His day would not have ensnared Him into being nailed to a piece of wood. On the contrary, Our Blessed Lord was a "tough cookie," and that is precisely why He had to die on the cross. He did not accept all people as they were, but rather insisted that they change. That is why He said to the sinners He pardoned: go, and sin more. He did not say go, and it's okay to keep sinning -- I accept you anyway. These homosexual advocates like to use Our Blessed Lord as some kind of lackey or slave for those who commit a Sin that cries out to Heaven for vengeance. How sad and pathetic that this is called a "Catholic" conference. It is nothing of the sort. The "Church" they talk about is not the Church, but rather the human elements that make up the Church that have abandoned its teachings (His teachings) on moral and spiritual issues thus making up their own morality and spirituality as they go in an attempt not to "offend" anyone. Our Faith is built on the dogmas and canons that have been proclaimed by Holy Church through Her infallible teaching arm -- the Magisterium. How many perverts in this sad story even believe that real faith is necessary in order to attain the beatific vision -- Heaven? How many will ever make the attempt to truly amend their lives in light of these people saying: "come to us, we accept you as you are, no need to change..."? Will these so-called "Catholics" stand with those homosexuals who didn't see a need to change and amend their lives when confronted by Our Blessed Lord at their particular judgments? The answer is no. And these "Catholics" will have a heavy price to pay for denying the tenets of the religion they claim to represent, more than the sinners themselves. Our Blessed Lord said: "...when the Son of man cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?" St. Luke, 18:8.

POT SHOTS
I must take exception to the whole direction this flack about Chorus Breviarii has taken. I like well-done liturgical music. I'm sure that if they did something wrong, the proper agency should take corrective action. Considering Father Bruce's style, it seems likely that snap judgments were made. Even he can reconsider an action if new facts come to light. However, the recent volley of nasty letters betrays the spirit of the Mass as a celebration of Christ's love and our necessary response. I was specifically dismayed by the character assassination by repeated use of the word "little" to describe the young writer of a letter in a previous issue. ("Someone With No Wit of Intelligence," Letters, January 2006) I was once a high school sophomore. At that age I was trying to incorporate myself into the Catholic community. Now, 26 years later, I still see that formation in our youth. Taking pot shots at our youth is lame. There are more important things in life than saving face. The Chorus Breviarii liturgies are nice and proper. They should be allowed to continue if only to demonstrate the richness of our Catholic heritage.

AIDING AND ABETTTING LAWBREAKERS
Mr. Kumpel's article ("If This is Poverty," January 2006) was quite informative, containing information the diocese will never divulge. Bravo! However, I was disappointed that the author did not "dig" further into the uses of the monies received, to wit: he quotes the largest expenditure in services was for "refugee resettlement services" which sounds like the politically correct term to hide the fact that the church is aiding and abetting lawbreakers in the form of illegal aliens. Can you believe an office is maintained on Third Avenue in Chula Vista appealing to these illegals? The dictionary defines the word "refugee" as one who flees from invasion, persecution, or political danger -- I don't think there are that many in our county who truly are refugees as defined. Is it possible to have a follow up article on just how all the income is used with emphasis on the major expense item?
Sincerely,

WORTH MORE THAN ALL THE WORKS OF THE SAINTS
Additional comments on your article "Divine Revelation or Satanic ploy?" (by Robert Kumpel, November 2005):
1) Luisa's spirituality was indeed closer to that of the Virgin Mary although not equal to it. If we are risen by God's grace to a higher spirituality it is only for the greater glory of God, not for our personal glorification. None can take away the glory that the Virgin Mary alone can give to God!
2) It is not heretical to believe that the work of Redemption remains incomplete unless we become holy by living in the Divine Will as the blessed ones live in Heaven. Otherwise his Sacrifice remains useless and in vain. If we remain sinful it is as if He had not died to deliver us from sin.
3) The Gift of living in the divine will allows us to return to the state of grace in which Adam and Eve had been created before they freely withdrew from the divine will and caused sin to enter the world.
4) God chose Luisa, with original sin, to show us that it is possible, for sinful creatures as we are, to live in the will of God as the Virgin Mary did but only by the grace of God.
5) The reason why one act done in the divine will is worth more than all the works of the saints put together is because by entering into the will of God by God's grace, we are able to enter into eternity and in one gaze see everything as God sees it in order to repair for all the sins of the world past, present, and future generations and to give God the Glory that all generations owe Him.
6) Luisa was given the Grace to suffer, to love, to repair, to glorify, to thank and to adore God for all generations past, present and future. That's why one act done in the divine will can benefit all generations, while one act done by a saint of the past, was restricted by time and space and could only benefit those who got in contact with him or who were in his town, city, or country or who lived during their time and age.
7) By doing acts in his will, we give God the glory, the honor, the love and thanksgiving that all creatures have denied Him since the creation of the world.
May God bless you and give you the grace to live in His will and in His love always.
